Bedrock Security Makes a Splash at Its First RSA Conference

Bedrock Security’s first RSA Conference was one to remember.
Most notably, Bedrock Security was named a top-10 finalist in the RSAC Innovation Sandbox Contest. The competition calls on the most promising young companies in cybersecurity to demonstrate their cutting-edge technologies to a panel of judges and a live conference audience.
Bedrock is honored to be recognized as an RSA Conference Innovation Sandbox finalist. It is a testament to our team's dedication to innovation and pioneering excellence in data security.
As one of the newest security companies in the market, Bedrock launched in November 2022, and in March this year we publicly announced availability of the industry's first frictionless data security platform.
The RSA conference theme “The Art of the Possible” fit perfectly with Bedrock’s mission to dramatically simplify how organizations protect their data in the era of cloud computing and GenAI.
We believe that today’s enterprises need a new approach. Legacy solutions, like DSPMs and other rule-based systems, can no longer match the speed, scale, and accuracy enterprises demand to safely embrace the challenges of modern data security.
RSA: The New Challenges of Data Security
During the conference, I discussed the new challenges of data security with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Byron Acohido from The Last Watchdog.
The Bedrock team also hosted an executive networking luncheon where we had fantastic conversations with top security and IT industry professionals. Later in the conference, we joined with a dozen of our start-up peers at a social hour event hosted by our investment partner Greylock. It was another great opportunity to hear first-hand about the top concerns and challenges facing businesses from across industries.
And, of course, data security was at the center of all our discussions. Enterprise data is exploding from new cloud computing and GenAI technologies. Security, risk, and compliance teams are left to catch up with ineffective tools and tight budgets — but still bear accountability.
From our conversations at RSA, some key themes emerged:
-
Data sprawl and data movement are major challenges as organizations struggle to maintain visibility of all their data, especially as it moves across platforms and environments.
-
Organizations are also suffering from “permission sprawl” and are struggling to implement least privilege data access policies to protect sensitive data (such as regulated personal identifiable information, PII).
-
Compliance and data governance continue to be a concern for organizations. Even when enterprises are compliant and handling data safely, it’s difficult to prove such compliance to auditors or internal stakeholders.
-
Critically, these collective data security challenges are slowing down business operations. Without full visibility and control of data, organizations are forced to be more conservative with their data usage, which is inhibiting business speed and agility.
A New Approach to Data Security
With these kinds of challenges in mind, we created Bedrock Security to make it possible for organizations to safeguard their data without slowing down the business.
The Bedrock platform uses its proprietary Adaptive Sampling technology to rapidly scan the largest environments in days versus months, its AI Reasoning (AIR) engine to understand the business context of data, and its Trust Boundaries to keep data where it belongs and prevent data leaks.
Bedrock can protect organizations that have foundational data security needs for compliance and visibility. It can also help progressive enterprises that require better data detection and response. And it can help mature security programs proactively and continually reduce risk with core IP protection, least privilege enforcement, data hardending, and data reduction.
RSA 2024 was a special moment for Bedrock Security. We couldn’t be more excited by the conversations we had with security experts and business leaders. The event — in so many ways — was clear validation and encouragement that Bedrock is solving the right kinds of data security problems.
We can’t wait until next year!
